Australian Open Day 5 : What’s in store

Marta

We are slowly getting to the business end of the Australian Open and more exciting matches are in store on Day five. Kyle Edmund will be hoping to continue his good form gainst Basilashvili in the third round. Ivo Karlovic, who slugged it out against Sugita in the last round will be locking horns with Andreas Seppi. It could be another long match for the big serving Croatian. Grigor Dimitrov vs Andrey Rublev looks like an exciting contest on paper. Marin Cilic will face a tough test against the in-form Ryan Harrison.

The match of the day on the men’s side should be Kyrgios vs Tsonga. Nick Kyrgios can be very dangerous with the crowd behind his back. This match could go the distance. Rafael Nadal faces Damir Dzhumhur in the evening session for a place in the fourth round.

On the women’s side Caroline Wozniacki and Jelena Ostapenko are in action for the night session. The fifteen year old sensation Marta Kostyuk will be facing world number four Elina Svitolina in her third round match. The teenage prodigy from Ukraine is already making headlines for being the youngest player, in over two decades, to reach the third round of a grand slam tournament.
